Consultant Appointment/Nursery

Noah had his 6 monthly check up last week. His thyriod results had increased but nothing to worry about at the moment, but they had increased from his last test, so we will get them done again within 6 months.

His weight is good on the 50% centile for the down's syndrome chart but he is dropping in height. What can I say he is going to be a shorty. (Small but Cute) This is something we have to keep an eye on aswell as we dont want him to drop below the 25% centile.

As for everything else he is doing really well, the consultant was surprised Noah uses the potty as we saw her last when he was 6 months old (we saw others in between).

We put Noah on the potty the day he was 6 months and he used it straight away. After that I became the potty lady bringing it around everywhere I went. I would bring it to baby yoga, all of the groups I took him to, peoples houses. Sometimes he would use it sometimes he wouldn't. Well I have been doing that ever since. He uses it most times at home, dont get me wrong he is still in nappies as he cant actually tell me that he wants it but I normally know when he wants it. But come the better weather I will be trying him in pants.

Today I went to put Noah on the bus and before I could put my coat on he was out of the door. He just wanted to get on that bus and play with his mates. He obviously enjoys it there as he isn't crying. Really he has settled in really well.

Well I have one little boy who isn't going to sleep now as he had a late sleep. Im going to have to go before he wrecks my bedroom.

Speech and Languague & Photo's

Noah had speech and language today and would not say a single thing. Since then he has not shut up. He has been babbling away to himself, I put him up to bed an hour ago and he is still talking to himself in his cot. Why dont kids do what you ask of them, when you want them to do it?

On Saturday Noah went to have his photos taken. The Solihull Down Syndrome Group arranged for these to be taken as they will be producing a calender in readiness for 2009.
However Noah would not smile (I hear you saying Noah is always smiling) well he smiled for two of these photos, he is such a little monkey.

Christmas 2007

Well I have finally got round to posting, Noah has gone back to nursery today and is due back in about 20 minutes so I thought I would try and post before he comes back.

The three of us had colds for Christmas but this didn't stop us from having a good time. This year Noah was more aware of a change over the holidays, he loved the Christmas tree and the lights, maybe a little too much because on New Years Eve I caught him pulling the tree and watching the Angel move around on the top this was enough for me to pack it all away on New Years Day (Yes I didn't want to but it was either that or the tree fall down and the figures get broken)

This year Noah enjoyed opening his own presents with a little help from us, he new exactly what to do but still had a facination with eating the wrapping paper.

We spent Christmas day at mum and dad's where Noah got a load more pressies from Nanny and Grandad, Aunties and Uncles. So a big thank you to them and everyone who gave Christmas Pressies to Noah. He loved them all.
I have loads more photos and news to update when I get chance but for now Happy New Year.
